The programming team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering won the 12th place and a bronze medal at the 43rd Annual World Finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) held in Porto, Portugal.

Prof. Heng Pheng Ann and his team members DOU Qi, YU Lequan, CHEN Hao, JIN Yueming, YANG Xin, and QIN Jing won the best paper award in MedIA-MICCAI’17 with the title “3D deeply supervised network for automated segmentation of volumetric medical images”.
A research team led by Prof. HENG Pheng Ann has developed an automated image processing technology that, through deep learning, is able to offer efficient and accurate diagnosis using CT scan and histopathological images.

Prof. Patrick Lee received the Distinguished Collaborator Award of Noah’s Ark Lab. This award is in recognition of Prof. Patrick P. C. Lee’s outstanding contribution to Huawei as the Principal Investigator in the joint Huawei-CUHK research projects from 2013 to 2016.
