Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Students Won the Champion in 2018 CAD Contest at the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD)

Congratulations that PhD students Jingsong Chen, Gengjie Chen, Jinwei Liu, and Dan Zheng supervised by Prof. Evangeline F.Y. Young won the champion in 2018 CAD Contest at the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD) for the problem “Obstacle-Aware On-Track Bus Routing”. The CAD Contest at ICCAD is a challenging, multi-month, research and development competition, focusing on advanced, real-world problems in the field of Electronic Design Automation. 136 teams participated in this year’s contest, from universities in Canada, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Mainland China, Malaysia, Russia, Taiwan, and USA. The result was announced in the award ceremony at ICCAD on Nov 5, 2018. The bus routing problem in advanced technology node is a challenging task. It requires the same routing topology for all bus bits while avoiding small obstacles and satisfying non-uniform and complex routing track configuration.
