-Connie Yuen is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Applied Data Science at Hong Kong Shue Yan University in Hong Kong, China. She received her B.Sc.(First Class Honors) and M.Phil. degree in [[http://www.cs.cityu.edu.hk/|Department of Computer Science]] from [[http://www.cityu.edu.hk/|City University of Hong Kong]]. She completed for doctoral degree in Computer Science and Engineering in [[http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/|The Chinese University of Hong Kong]] in 2016. Her PhD supervisors are [[http://www.cse.cuhk.edu.hk/~ksleung/|Prof. K. S. Leung]] and [[http://www.cse.cuhk.edu.hk/~king/|Prof. Irwin King]]. Before her appointment as an Assistant Professor at 2019, Dr. Yuen has over 10 years’ experiences on teaching at tertiary education and working on various research projects at different universities. Dr. Yuen’s research interests include crowdsourcing, human computation, big data application, data mining, machine learning and computer network.She is an IEEE Senior Member.
+Dr. Connie Yuen is the Open Source Evangelist in Linux Foundation Asia Pacific (LF APAC). She was the Associate Professor and Head in the Department of Applied Data Science at Hong Kong Shue Yan University in Hong Kong, China. She was one of the core members in establishing the First Science Department and developing the First Bachelor of Science programme (BSc-Applied Data Science) in the university. She was the programme director of the BSc-Applied Data Science. Under her leadership, the First two cohort students in BSc-Applied Data Science received a number of awards in competitions and participated in several indoor and outdoor exhibitions. At the same university, she was also the Founding Director of Big Data Laboratory, the Founding Director of Virtual Reality Laboratory and the Founding Director of Social Robotics & Digital Living Laboratory. She received several research grants from the University Grants Committee (UGC, Hong Kong) (over HKD $12.8 M). Among them, she is the Principal Investigator of two research grants.
