INNS Application Form for Creating a New Special Interest Group (SIG)

Committee for SIGS and Regional Chapter (CSRC)

  • Seiichi Ozawa, VP for Membership and Chair of the CSRC
  • Marley Vellasco - SIGS and Regional Chapters Sub-Committee Chair for Americas
  • Roberto Tagliaferri - SIGS and Regional Chapters Sub-Committee Chair for Europe, Middle East and Africa
  • Seiichi Ozawa - SIGS and Regional Chapters Sub-Committee Chair for Asia and the Pacific

Policy and Procedure

If a new SIG research area is proposed and approval requested, the CSRC will decide if the new SIG research area should be accepted. The new SIG could come about by an individual, or someone on the standing committee could propose a new area. In either case a proposal is required that states:

  1. the proposed SIG Research area,
  2. the INNS member who will head the SIG with contact information provided,
  3. a statement as to why this area is important as a new area (this should be part of the SIG Background),
  4. names of current INNS members who are interested in participating in the SIG (the number should be a minimum of 5, and this number can include student members), and
  5. any financial support required for the formation of the SIG.

For your convenience, a form is provided below for you that will serve as your proposal. Please fill it out and submit it after the final confirmation.

Upon acceptance, the new SIG at a minimum will be included on the INNS website, and advertised in the Tri-Society Newsletter.
