Abstract:
This project is to build an application to do automatic harmonization by a given melody. The application can be used for practicing instrument or composing song. The system can analyze the input melody recorded by instrument and extracting information such as note pitch, tempo for the harmonization. The system then generate chord sequence and output a midi file with note filtering and beat correction to enhance accuracy. We performed test on the behavior of the system with different sound property produced by different instrument.
