
We are thrilled and honored to announce that Prof. Irwin King has been elected as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for making significant contributions to the theory and practical application of machine learning in social computing. He is among 55 fellows whom ACM selected from its membership this year.
Founded in 1947, the ACM is the largest and most prestigious society of computing professionals. Its ACM Fellows program recognizes the top 1% of members for their outstanding accomplishments in computing and information technology research and for outstanding service to the society and the computing community at large.
Prof. King’s research encompasses the theoretical and practical development of algorithms and models for social computing applications, including social recommendations, graph neural networks, federated learning, social media analysis, and more, with the goal of ensuring the trustworthy use of AI.
