The Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong recently announced the funding results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)/RGC Joint Research Scheme (JRS) 2025/26. It supports four-year research proposals jointly submitted by Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong researchers. It aims to promote collaboration between researchers and teams in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland that complement the strengths of both sides. Each successful Hong Kong JRS applicant receives a maximum grant of HK$1.25 million.
Two Principal Investigators from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Patrick Lee Pak-ching and Professor Xu Qiang, have received funding from the JRS.
Professor Patrick Lee Pak-ching’s project is titled “Optimizing Blockchain Systems from the Storage Perspective.” Meanwhile, Professor Xu Qiang’s research focuses on “Circuit Learning-Driven Hybrid SAT/SMT Solving for EDA Applications.”
