This core research is to investigate and develop various next-generation computing models and technology, which might lead to a tremendous revolution over the existing computing systems, for the “post-Moore’s law era”. Here, the post-Moore’s law era is referred to the foreseeable future where the Moore’s law might be no longer valid in guaranteeing a doubling number of components per integrated circuit every year. This direction covers a wide spectrum of research topics (but not limited to) such as quantum computing, emerging memory technologies (or Non-volatile memory), optical computing, bio-inspired and neuromorphic systems.
