MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dear Colleagues, Alumni, Students, Staff, and Friends,

It is time for a new term! I would like to welcome the new incoming students and also the returning students to begin the new academic year!

First off, we are proud to have graduated our batch of undergraduate students, MSc students, MPhil, and PhD students to finish off our previous academic year. On behalf of the department, I wish you all the success in your new endeavor as you begin a new chapter in life. Continue to strive for excellence that is exemplary of the CSE department!

The new term brings much excitement. New ranking results are out and we have done very well (see the related article) in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. I am honored and proud of this outstanding recognition based on the collective efforts of great colleagues from our department as well as the faculty.

One worthy tidbit of news that I would like to share is that we plan to commence the Outstanding Alumni Seminar Series highlighting our alumni’s achievements. Please look forward to these talks on their latest research development in the near future.

Last but not least, the famous proverb says, “A good beginning is half the success” (好的開始,是成功的一半) so I wish you all a great start to the term leading to a productive and fruitful academic year.
