ABSTRACT:

The classical Dutch Book argument shows that an agent will lose surely (a Dutch Book is made) if his degrees of belief in propositions do not satisfy the laws of the probability. Yet a question arises here: what does the Dutch Book imply? In this talk, we will show that the coherence in Bayesian decision theory means that the assignments of values and degrees of belief are consistent with the ordering of preference. The harmonious (or representation) relationships between the qualitative and quantitative concepts do not exist if a Dutch Book is made.
