In this seminar, I will first give a brief introduction to the basic concept of IGNS, present the disadvantages of IGNS in clinical applications and some of the key technologies in solving these problems. Secondly, I will introduce the research work done in our lab in the area of brain deformation compensation, DTI technology in IGNS, and image registration. I will present some methods and results briefly. Finally, I will present the IGNS system developed by our research group using the above mentioned key technologies and discuss its application status in several hospitals.
BIOGRAPHY:
Zhijian Song, male, born in Oct. 1960, holds a Doctoral degree of Engineering. After graduating from Department of Bio-medical Engineering of Xiˇ¦an Jiao Tong University and got his Doctoral degree of Engineering in July of 1994, he started his post doctoral programs at Department of Preclinical Medicine of Fudan University in August the same year and became a teacher there in December 1996. Professor Song is currently the director of Fudan University Digital Medicine Research Center, the director of Shanghaiˇ¦s Key Lab for Medical Image Processing and Computer Assisted Surgery, as well as the director of Ministry of Educationˇ¦s Innovation Base for Cross Subjects Graduate Students in Digital Medicine Field. Being one of the earliest domestic experts that came up with digital medicine concept, Professor Song founded the first digital medicine research organization in China in January 2000. He has engaged in researches including 3- Dimensional Medical Image Processing, Surgery Simulation, Image Guided Surgery and Surgery Robot etc. He is also the leader of many projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation, National 863 Project, Key Scientific and Technological Project of Shanghai. Being a holder for 5 patents and having published more than 80 academic theses in authoritative periodical journals home and abroad, Professor Song has also won Shanghai Science and Technology Advancement Award, Elite Prize for Innovative Personnel for Shanghai Hi-tech Achievement Transfer, Outstanding Scholar Prize etc. The Image Guided Neurosurgery System, 3-D Medical Image Workstation, Virtual Endoscopy and other hi-tech products developed by his research group have gained Registration Certificate and Production Permit from either state or city of Shanghai and the technologies have commercialized and spread into application.
The seminar will be presented in Putonghua.
