What is in this (Evaluation) version of the kit?

You have chosen to install the Concordia "Evaluation" kit. This is an evaluation version of Concordia which supports all the basic features of Concordia mobile agent programming. It does not include Concordia’s production features, intended to support operational deployment. These features include security and encryption of agents, the Concordia Administrator, fine-grained persistence of agents and objects, queuing of agents in transit, and others.

The Concordia Evaluation kit does not expire. It is made available for noncommercial, evaluation use by Mitsubishi Electric to better assist the Internet community to learn the capabilities of mobile agents and of Concordia.

The Evaluation release of Concordia provides:

Agent Launch Wizard and bootstrap command support for launching of secure agents.
Agents are Cloneable and may be cloned via the standard Java "clone" method. A cloned agent will have a different agentID than its parent and will have an independent copy of the Itinerary.
Agents can log messages into the Concordia Server log files.

Application Specific Services

Ability to export both native and non-native application-specific services to Concordia agents.
Service Bridge API makes it easy for developers to create services.

Collaboration

Reliable and robust framework for both synchronous and asynchronous agent collaboration.

Distributed Events

Selected events via Distributed Event Manager provide:
o Agent API for registering to receive selected events.

o Forwarding of events to agents as they travel throughout the network.

o Queuing and flushing of events for in-transit agents.

o Configurable transparent, automatic restart of Event Manager after failure.

o Flexible event registration mechanism.
Group-Oriented Events provide:
o Agent API for sending and receiving group-oriented events.

o Choice of synchronous or asynchronous notification of all events generated by group members.

o Agent API that enables an agent to directly send an event to another agent in the group.

o Forwarding of events to agents as they travel throughout the network.

o Queuing and flushing of events for in-transit agents.

Light-weight Agent Transporter API

Ability to embed lightweight AgentTransporter functionality in client applications to allow receiving, executing, and launching of Concordia Agents.
