Anthony Sum is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He received his BEng (1st Hons) degree in Information Systems Engineering from Coventry University in UK, MPhil degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

He is also an Engineer (Ir), and is currently a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council in UK, Member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

His research interests include Biomedical Image Analysis, Pattern Recognition, Embedded System Design and Robotics.
