ADVANCED NETWORKING & SYSTEM RESEARCH GROUP

Congratulation: to students of our group who have received scholarships and are currently studying Ph.D in:

We wish them the best of luck in their Ph.D study. :-)

The Advanced Networking and System Research Group at the CUHK is led by Professor John C.S. Lui and Professor Dah-Ming Chiu. Together with a group of dedicated and energetic students, we want to make a difference in the area of networking.

The aim of this group is to do basic and fundamental research in the area of networking and data communication. We believe that there are many challenging and interesting problems in the area of networking* that need to be solved using:

We believe this is the best way to complement both the applied and theoretical research.

Our research spans a wide range of interesting topics, addressing both the lower layers as well as the higher layer networking applications. Various topics including multimedia networking, network protocol designs, network security, wireless and ad-hoc networks, performance evaluation on broadband and Internet protocols,...,etc.

We are proud to say that students in our group have accomplished significant achievements. Not only their work appear in prestigious international conferences/journals, some of them even won best paper award and many of them eventually go to prestigious universities like Columbia University , UCLA , University of Southern California, Purdue University , University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, CMU, Caltech, ..., etc.

Lastly, if you share the same vision like us, we welcome you to join us or to talk to any member of our group.

* note : we believe that challenging and interesting problems do not necessarily have to have any financial implication/reward, or even the necessity of technology transfer.
