A Short Bio
I received my PhD degree in computer science and engineering from the
Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). My PhD thesis was on
distributed file systems, and I was a member of the Coda File System Group
in Carnegie Mellon University. I am now a
member of technical staff (homepage here) in
the High Speed Mobile Data Research Department in Bell Labs in
New Jersey, USA.
In the academic year of 2006/2007, I took a year of leave of
absence from Bell Labs to teach in CUHK, my alma mater. My
technical interests include systems design and implementation, wireless
and mobile computing, and information technology in education.
I have returned to New Jersey, USA in September 2007. The following are
from my old home page and are retained here for historical interests only.
