| Description: | Data mining is the discovery of interesting patterns or anomalies from a large amount of data or a large database. It has been found useful in business applications for marketing and cross-selling. For a typical retail business, the data corresponds to a massive amount of purchase records generated continuously. The reason why after the purchase of A,B from a company, we may get a suggestion to purchase C is that the company has discovered a pattern relating A,B to C in the history of purchase records. This project will study some issues in data mining for business applications. This will be suitable for students with interests in both algorithms and implementation. |
