The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is vigorously hiring several tenure track faculty members at the Assistant, Associate and Professor level in the following areas to pursue new strategic research initiatives, to fill up vacant positions within current strengths and to teach in the new curriculum to be launched in 2012-13. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a significant independent research programme with external funding, supervise graduate students, and teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

 

Computer and System Security

Security is identified as one of the Faculty's strategic research areas, to be developed in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Information Engineering. Talented candidates are sought to complement existing efforts and create new synergies. This area is supported by the University Focused Investment in Information Sciences.

 

Computer Engineering

The Department is looking for a leader and a couple of young and aspiring professors for added momentum to its Computer Engineering Programme, and in particular, talents in the areas of multi-core architecture and embedded systems.

 

 

Successful applicants should have a PhD degree and a good scholarly record demonstrating potential for teaching and research excellence. Appointment(s) will normally be made on contract basis for two to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or substantiation (tenure) later subject to excellent performance and mutual agreement. Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
