This project aims to design and implement a system for plagiarism detection based on search engine methodology with text processing and database techniques. The engine detects similar sentences within an assignment corpus, course corpus, department corpus, and university corpus. It is useful not only in detecting plagiarism between documents, but it can also be used to detect changes in different versions of submission for conferences. Other applications include topic summarization, topic clustering, corpus statistics, etc.
