Improved Mobile Localization Methods (M. C. Lee)
There are now increasing interests in applications based on localization of mobile users using wireless networks. Traditional wireless networks use primarily a beacon-based localization scheme, and may not work properly for mobile users, since such a scheme could suffer from radio signal measurement errors because of bad propagation conditions of radio signals, and different other factors. As a result, grossly inaccurate localization results could be produced. This project aims to devise innovative methods to address various causes of errors in different localization applications such as pedestrian localization, and vehicle navigation.
