Connectionist approach to natural language understanding

Unlike traditional AI approaches, connectionist approach when applied to natural language understanding can handle the generative and noisy nature of human languages as it does not rely on some underlying linguistic assumption. In this project, we build a syntactic parser using the RAAM approach, which is capable of resolving syntactic ambiguity. We are also building a dialogue system, which is relatively free in context.
