The aim of this research group is do fundamental research in the area of networking. We believe that hard and interesting problems (not necessarily having financial potential) in the area of networking need to be solved using (i) rigorous mathematical/analytic approach, as well as (ii) verifying and experimenting using good system building and prototyping. Our group's research spans a wide range of interesting topics, addressing both the lower layers as well as the higher layer networking applications. We believe this is the best way to complement both the applied and theoretical research. Currently, the research group is studying various topics including multimedia networking, protocol designs, wireless networks and performance evaluation.

The following are some of the on-going projects in the Advanced Networking and System Research Laboratory:

  1. Incentive P2P networks
  2. Wireless ad-hoc network
  3. Network Economics and Implications
  4. Multimedia Networks
  5. Applications of Network Coding to Internet Applications and services
  6. Network Security & Intrusion detection
  7. Green Computing
  8. Network Measurements and Signal Processing
