How to Enrol
I am a first year student
If you are a year 1 student going on to year 2 in
the coming September, you are right in time to declare
this programme as your Minor this coming July. You
can get hold of a form from the Registration and
Examinations Section, take it to the CS&E Department Office
in Room 1028, HSH Engineering Building for approval,
then bring it to your Major
department for endorsement and return the
completed form back to the Registration and
Examinations Section. More instructions could be found on the form.
Of course, you still have the option to just taking the
courses as electives and to declare it your Minor next July.
I am a second year student
If you are a year 2 student going on to year 3, we
suggest you to just take the courses as electives to
strengthen your knowledge on IT. You cannot
complete the requirements in just two terms. You
would have to defer your year of graduation if you
really want to complete the programme.
I have just been admitted to CUHK
If you have just been admitted into the University
and will be a year 1 student in the coming September,
you cannot declare the programme as your Minor yet.
You should enrol in the courses as electives according
to the suggested pattern. You can officially declare this
Minor next July when you are getting on to year 2. The
procedure for declaring a Minor is the same as
mentioned in the first paragraph above.
Important dates:
The annual exercise for the declaration of Minor
programmes is normally done in early July for 2
weeks. The exact dates will be announced and
disseminated to students by the Registration and Examinations
Section together with their grade
sheets in June.
