I was trained to be logical and analytical in thinking and learnt a lot of
computer knowledge (including both hardware and software) in the last few
years through the program. The Computer Engineering program provides both
theoretical and practical training to the students. These training prepare
us to be a knowledgeable engineer. It not only teaches the theories,
including computer architecture, operation system, etc, but also the
practical ones, including programming, robot-making and other projects. It
is a tough but valuable learning experience.
The program also encourages students to do research. In the final year, we
have to work on a final year project. This let us know what we want to
specialize in and keep abreast of the latest technologies. Through the
final year project, I found out the significance of research. This led me
to my master and doctoral studies.

There were lots of problem to be solved each day, including programming
and paper working. I believe CSE department one of the toughest among
others, but it is also very challenging. One can learn not only computer
knowledge, but also other skills in this department. Team work and
research based final year project provides all-rounded training.
Professors and tutors are friendly and helpful. They encourage students to
communicate and to share ideas within and out of the classroom. On the
other hand, there are also extracurricular activities held by the CSE
student society. C.S. Cup is one of my favorites, which includes
competition on T.V. games, badminton and tug of war. In summary, the study
life is filled with happiness in the department of CS&E.
