In this talk, I will briefly introduce the manufacturability issues in high performance microprocessors, followed by some discussions on related EDA (Electronic Design Automation) problems. Finally, we will focus on an interesting problem in this topic being solved by a fixed parametric tractable algorithm.
Young received her B.Sc. degree in Computer
Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong
(CUHK). She received her Ph.D. degree from The
University of Texas at Austin. She is currently a
professor in the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering in CUHK. Her research interests
include algorithms and VLSI CAD. She is now
working actively on floorplanning, placement,
routing, DFM and EDA on Physical Design in
Tea, coffee and cookies will
