Texture Separation Examples
Most texture elements on object surfaces are details in small sizes. Rolling guidance filter can be used to extract texture. A number of examples are listed below. We select different types of textures from materials including murals, mosaics, textiles,wall graffiti and cartoon images. All textures are successfully extracted from original surfaces. It is noticeable that the large scale structure is not taken in primarily. The traditional edge-preserving filters cannot generate comparable results.
