The department's research in this area is to propose new system design paradigms for building large-scale parallel/distributed software systems that integrate computing and storage resources across many networked computers, so as to provide a reliable and scalable infrastructure for running various types of data-intensive applications. We emphasize practical system designs, prototype implementations, and in-depth experimental results under realistic networked settings. Our recent research focuses on the following topics:
