Department of Computer Science and Engineering

As the first computer science department in Hong Kong, The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong launched its undergraduate major programme in 1978 and its postgraduate programme in 1982. CSE department currently hosts 30 faculty members, including one Turing Award recipient and four ACM Fellows, and a student body of 900 students.  There are 600 undergraduate students, 140 MSc students, and 160 full-time postgraduate research students in CSE department, carrying out learning and research activities in a very co-operative and friendly environment.
